"Haiti Cherie" is a poem written and read by Ambassador Antonio Pedro Monteiro Lima, Permanent Representative to the United Nations for Cape Verde.  The Ambassador is referred to by the United Nations Radio as a "poète engagé" because of his poetic style.  In "Haiti Cherie" he talked about the Haitian struggle and hope of a better tomorrow:
