Haiti's Institute of Social Welfare and Research (L’Institut du Bien-être social et des recherches - IBSR) in partnership with the United Nations (UN) launched Haitian Children's Rights Week on Monday June 6, 2011.

"We must protect a child against all forms of exploitation" declared Françoise Gruloos-Ackermans, the representative of UNICEF in Haiti.

President Michel Martelly promised to pay special attention to children and he also renewed his campaign promise to provide access to education to all Haitian children.
